Ash Dieback
Ash Dieback (Hymenoscyphus fraxineus) is a fungus affecting Ash trees resulting in them losing leaves and limbs becoming dead and brittle.
Ash Dieback is predicted to cost British society £15 billion.
You can identify dieback in Ash trees by:
- Dark patches on the leaves during Summer
- Discoloured and wilting leaves
- Leaf shed occurring earlier than expected
- Diamond-shaped, dark brown lesions form where branches meet the trunk
- Epicormic growth (a stress reaction in trees leading to shoots forming lower down in the crown and on the trunk)
It can kill a tree in as little as 2 growing seasons (other factors should be taken into account ie environment, age etc).
Leaving an infected tree increases the potential of further spread, risk of limb failure, danger to the local areas including humans, properties, vehicles and wildlife.
As safety is paramount and a leading factor in our work, we can carry out risk assessments on an individual basis and implement management plans in attempts to attain a safer tree, or removal if necessary.
Tree Reports & Bat Surveys
Working closely with outsourced experts to produce reports that will assess, analyse and report specific issues relating to the care of trees, thus resulting in the successful decision making of potential homeowners or property managers.
Often crucial for private or professional sites/ landscapes, in some areas they are required by law.
Tree Reports can be required for any tree maintenance/removal, planning permission to extend properties, changing service lines and more.
Bat Surveys
We have a dedicated team of experts to carry out bat surveys as necessary. Full access and use of our tracked Spider MEWP, which results in tree, roof spaces and other areas to be accessed in a safe and efficient manner are provided.
Spider MEWP
Tracked MEWP – Mobile Elevating Work Platform.
Upwards reach of 23 metres (75.4 feet) and an outwards reach of 12 metres (39.3 feet), our MEWP is self-levelling and will access gaps between 0.78 metres and 1.30 metres. The MEWP can be set up in many areas, including single carriageways for roadside use or uneven off-road areas such as woodlands, gardens and grass banks.
With the increasing levels of Ash Dieback, as well as the risk involved with the management and removal of these trees we have invested heavily in our plant and equipment – with the MEWP being an essential tool.
